Cold Brew- Who Knew?!

It took me less than an hour to give this a try after a reader asked how to make cold brew at home and Melissa answered (remember she also brought us the Whipped Coffee recipe). Below are the directions to having your own refreshing cold brew coffee ready in your fridge at a fraction of the cost of what it is to purchase in the store. AND it really isn't hard.

Ingredients:

  • Coarsely ground coffee beans (about 1 cup)- coarse ground is a must!

  • Cold or room-temperature water (about 4 cups)

  • Optional: Cinnamon, vanilla extract, or milk/cream for added flavor

Instructions:

  • Mix coffee and water in a big jar or pitcher.

  • Stir to ensure all coffee grounds are wet.

  • Cover and refrigerate for 12-24 hours for steeping.

  • Strain the mixture using a sieve or coffee filter to remove grounds.

  • If it's too strong, dilute with water or milk/cream.

  • Serve over ice and enjoy your homemade cold brew coffee!

You can store any leftovers in the fridge for up to two weeks. Feel free to customize the recipe to your liking. Have fun and savor your refreshing cold brew coffee!

It also seems like a really good idea to go ahead and invest in these Mason Jar Lids- so much more convenient and so much cuter.
