Nothing beats a do-it-yourself, creative Halloween costume. Here are some of our favorite DYI couple costumes that are super turn-key so you can whip them up on October 30th and still dominate that Halloween party.
Dos Equis Most Interesting Man in the World and a Dos Equis Beer
This year my husband got to look sophisticated and be the hero of the neighborhood handing out beers to any nearby trick-or-treating parent who said, "stay thirsty my friend" to him and I looked super dorky! I loved it though, although without him by my side, I think people were a little confused on who I was. Just a lone Dos Equis Beer. We came up with this because our youngest was a taco that year for Halloween and we love a theme!
What you need for The Most Interesting Man in the World:
Grey/White hairspray (and a good beard helps)
A black suit
Six pack of Des Equis beer
A great eye brow
Optional cigar
What you need for the Dos Equis bottle:
Some sort of green fabric (mine was an old choir uniform at Goodwill)
A paper plate covered in gold for the waist and the hat (which I hooked to a headband)
I used red duct tape for the XX
a good attitude to look kind of dorky
This might be a better costume just for your husband/boyfriend.
"Stay thirsty my friends..."
This was not our best work and an absolute throw together with what we already had about an hour before trick-or-treat time.
Yellowstone's Beth Dutton & Rip Wheeler
What you need for her:
Anything that is a little country and a little slutty. Boots are a bonus
Bottle of booze
Bruised looking makeup
Big, messy hair
What you need for him:
Tough looking cowboy clothes- a good jacket is a real bonus
A strong beard
black cowboy hat
boots
The branded badge on your coat and/or belt buckle
my husband added sunglasses and a toothpick
attitude that you might just off somebody if they look at Beth wrong
We thought we did pretty good and then we ran into this couple who was legit the REAL Beth and Rip. My husband and I look like the cheap knockoffs we are next to them. Look at my fake cigarette in this picture (which was a plastic reusable straw topper). We didn't feel so cool after seeing these guys just nail the shit out of it.
Black and White Old School Movie Stars
This one was super easy to throw together last minute and really stood out at the party. Just a few things to add to what you have in your closet to make this one come to life.
What you need for him:
Black and white suit with tie
old school black hat
glasses optional
white face paint
What you need for her:
White wig
Headband or wrap
A great beaded necklace (super cheap at the costume shop)
long fake cigarette holder
black heels and stockings
black or white dress and scarf
gloves
white face makeup
