Have you heard of the Apple TV+ show Extrapolations? It's a tough one to describe, so let me first share how the show is outlined on their website:
"“Extrapolations” is a bracing drama from writer, director and executive producer Scott Z. Burns that introduces a near future where the chaotic effects of climate change have become embedded into our everyday lives. Eight interwoven stories about love, work, faith and family from across the globe will explore the intimate, life-altering choices that must be made when the planet is changing faster than the population. Every story is different, but the fight for our future is universal. And when the fate of humanity is up against a ticking clock, the battle between courage and complacency has never been more urgent. Are we brave enough to become the solution to our own undoing before it’s too late?"
I would describe it as something that is a little haunting to watch because you can really imagine it. I think after living through the pandemic, we can all see how the world can significantly change from our norm and how we are all forced to react and conform to it. It is well acted with some big names, takes on the tough truths that we are collectively facing, but does so not in a documentary-type, educational style, but instead manages to somehow showcase the horrors of climate change in an entertaining way. You'll actually really enjoy watching it, be left with a bit of a pit in your stomach and won't be able to stop thinking about it. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
Watch the Official Trailer Here.
We watched the first couple of episodes. It's got a great cast, but the characters were pretty much cariactures of real people with little depth. Had great hopes for the series, but we gave up. We're watching the new Kari Russell series, The Diplomat, and it's much better
We haven’t got Apple TV…I will try and see how else I can watch it, if it’s being streamed anywhe else.
I'm struggling with getting through it. Watched the first episode but it isn't grabbing me - does it get better? Should I keep going?
