You might be reading this and thinking, "Duh Brooke. I've known about this since November of 2022 when this became an option!" Well I didn't and it is absolutely my new favorite thing about my iPhone. Basically it makes your phone a rotating gallery of all of your most favorite people, places and memories. The Photo Shuffle option for your iPhone wallpaper brings up a new photo for your Lock Screen image every hour (or however you customize). I cannot explain how much joy it brings me throughout my day when I look down at my phone during some mundane task and see a picture of one of my boys as a toddler or a photo of a great spot from a long forgotten vacation. If you haven't taken advantage of this little gem of technology sitting right in your hand, you gotta try it.
There are two ways to do this.
The first:
Go to your "Settings" and then click on "Wallpaper"
Tap "+Add New Wallpaper" and then the purple "Photo Shuffle" button at the top.
From there you can add which People or Pets you want included in the shuffle as well as Nature and Cities.
You can also set the frequency in which it shuffles them (on tap, on lock, hourly, daily)
There are some other options I haven't played around with as much such as selecting your photos manually too.
The second:
When your phone is on it's lock screen, just click and hold directly on the current picture. It will pull up the lock screen options between some recent lock screen photos, photo shuffle or add new. Click on Photo Shuffle and to customize it, like above, click on the + sign.
