Get that old ass retainer out of your cabinet and into your mouth before it's too late!
I had a consultation this morning with an orthodontist after I asked about my bottom teeth that have shifted over the last few decades during my son's recent appointment. They had me come in and said that once they shift enough to fully start to cross, game over, that is really tough to fix without hitting up some adult braces, but if they haven't quite reached that point yet, you can fix it with your trusty, metal, junior high retainer.
Miraculously I still have mine, and even more miraculously if I squeeze it super hard to the point I'm blinking back tears, I can still shove it on there. He said go for it. For a full month wear it day and night and it should move those teeth that have shifted (fun fact, bottom teeth move ALL the time) back into the just post braces, stick straight 9th grade teeth you once had.
So I'm doing it. I'm sitting here right now lisping up all my S's, and scared to drink coffee, with my glitter gold (yes I chose glitter gold in 8th grade) retainer working the magic it should, and would have if I would have been consistent in popping it in more than 1-2x/year.
I know it isn't just me. We are all that age. Who else is in this predicament?
