An Honest Review of RYZE Mushroom Coffee- Spoiler Alert, I Love It!

I know. Just the thought of mushroom coffee made me want to run the other direction too. Until it didn't. I can honestly say I'm loving it.

I have been a coffee lover since college. Give me all the coffee, all of the time- morning obviously, mid-day pick me up, iced, hot, yummy creamer- yes please, meet for coffee- can't wait, you name it. As I've gotten older my love for coffee hasn't changed, but my body doesn't love it the same way it used to.

Just after I had my second kiddo, I was getting the super gitters on my morning jog. Shaky, sweaty, overall not right ick. I went to the doctor suspecting diabetes that runs in my family. When my doctor, who was Mormon, suggested that maybe my caffeine intake was the culprit I laughed in his face and wrongly thought he was trying to convert me to his religion. Turns out he was right. I didn't even think I was drinking that much caffeine, but my body had developed a real sensitivity to it. So....I reluctantly switched to decaf over a decade ago.

That switch wasn't as awful as you would think. I still was constantly enjoying coffee as part of my daily routine, we just now annoyingly had two coffee pots- regular for my husband, decaf for this gal, my orders at the coffee shops always took twice as long as a regular brew, and there is always the worry that the busy barista is going to miss the key word "decaf" in my order and unknowingly ruin my day.

I had comfortably been in my decaf era but as the years ticked by I started to notice my stomach not being so happy about the coffee. Come on body! Get with the program! Was it the coffee or the yummy creamers I enjoyed? I made the switch to almond milk creamers or oat milk hoping that would solve the issue, but overall, my coffee wasn't making me feel good in the mornings anymore. I knew I needed to change this habit, but honestly just didn't want to.

I kept along with my coffee routine willing my body to straighten itself out and let me enjoy my damn life, but it was more and more clear I needed to cut out the morning cup of joe. Boo. Now I do like me some tea, but there is no replacement for coffee...until now.

The RYZE algorithm knew I was their girl. I kept seeing ads constantly and was intrigued by their long list of health benefits, but I'm not a huge mushroom lover so it seemed like a non-starter. I found a couple of travel sized mushroom coffee packets at my local Co-op and decided to try that before investing in a bag from RYZE. I tried them out and they were surprisingly delicious. I even did a blind taste test with both my husband and coffee drinking son and they didn't have a clue was a mushroom coffee. Success! I pulled the trigger and have been enjoying a cup of RYZE Mushroom Coffee each morning!

I bought two bags on my first order. Their OG Mushroom Coffee, but because there is some regular coffee in it too, I was worried about the caffeine content (which is half the caffeine of a regular cup of coffee) for my big, baby body (spoiler alert, I have been totally fine), as well as their Mushroom Chicory which is completely caffeine free (and harder to find on their website). They are both delicious, but to be honest, I just keep grabbing for the OG Mushroom Coffee each morning.

Some of the health benefits they list are:

  • Energy

  • Stress Relief

  • Focus

  • Immune Support

  • Healthy Digestion

  • Fights Oxidative Stress (no clue what that one means but I'm here for it)

Chicory's are a little different but also include:

  • Anti-Inflammation

  • Gut Support

  • Antiviral

  • Fat Burning

  • Stamina

Each bag has about 30 servings and they always seem to have good deals on their site including packages that come with a cute little wooden spoon. They do have a 30 day money back guarantee which I loved when you are just wanting to try it out.

I just use the wooden spoon that came with my coffee, toss it in some hot water and use my little frother (if you don't have one, these are like $10, just make sure you get one with a stand). I can't believe it, but I haven't added any creamer! I haven't had to. Somehow it is a little creamy all on its own. Bonus- less calories and crap I'm putting in my body. Best part- my body is happy! My stomach feels great, maybe even less bloated. Now I am a mind over matter girlie, but I do feel more focused and less stressed. My literal only complaint is the last sip can be a little gritty, but I've learned to either not drink that last bit (duh) or give it a little swirl before I sip as I get to the bottom so I'm getting all those good for me ingredients into my body.

If you are like me and wanting (or needing) to give something new a go, I would totally suggest trying RYZE Mushroom Coffee. Use code BABBLEWITHBROOKE15 at checkout for 15% off or use any link on this page for it to automatically be applied.

Heads up: It a subscription service, which I'm personally not crazy about. As with many sites where you have a subscription/account, they have a customer portal in the site menu labeled "Manage Subscriptions". Once you login, it will bring you to your customer portal where you can manage your orders under “Your Subscriptions”, including changing the products you receive, editing delivery frequency, skipping, delaying, or canceling at any time. You can also order one-time, just make sure you select “Buy Once” so you don’t opt into auto-shipments. They are also super responsive and helpful via email.

Report back if you give it a try so we can Babble everyone's experience!
