Have friends and family coming for the holidays? Think outside the Chex Mix box and try a new, more delicious and inventive snack mix that will leave all your guests asking "what is in this?" and "why can't I stop eating this?" and "how did you make this?" (to which you then direct them to Babble!!).
My sister-in-law introduced us to this mix and we all became addicted. I then made a giant batch and split it into Christmas tins that I gave to neighbors and friends and even packed in my suitcase when we headed back to the Midwest for the holidays. It's that good.
Party Mix Recipe
16 oz. Frito BBQ Twists (2 bags) - didn't know these existed before, but now love them.
11.5 oz Toffee Peanuts (1 container or 2 1/3 C.) - you can use Mixed Nuts if you can't find the Toffee ones.
11oz. Butter Snap Pretzels (1 bag)
6.6 oz Goldfish (1 bag)
1 C. Butter
3/4 C. Brown Sugar
1 Tbl. Garlic Powder
1 Tbl. Chili Powder
1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
Place top four ingredients in a bowl. Bring butter, brown sugar, garlic and chili powders to a boil. Stir in baking powder. Pour over dry mixture and stir to coat. Bake on cookie sheets at 250 degrees for 20 minutes.
Ok, this one too...I think I will try it this weekend for family in town to see if its a hit!
