Now nothing beats a green beer and an Irish jig, but here are a few other ways we've been celebrating St. Patty's Day. Lucky you...getting inspired!
Leprechaun Treasure Hunt with Gold and Chocolate Coins
The night before we set up a little treasure hunt for the lads by writing Irish limericks (usually influenced by a Guinness or two) sending them on a treasure hunt around the house and the yard where they find a pile of gold and chocolate coins at each stop along with another letter and clue to the next one. At the end there might be some Skittles (eat the rainbow) or clue that breakfast is in the kitchen, etc. We've also done a variation of this where there are just gold coins lined up creating a path for them to follow to find the "pot of gold".
St. Patty's Breakfast
A fun breakfast usually with green pancakes or eggs, rainbow sprinkles or lucky charm marshmallows and Irish music and corned beef and cabbage for dessert. :) (And yes, that is sausage in the pot in case you were wondering.)
Leprechaun Trap
Let them make a Leprechaun trap. Entertaining kids the day before? Check!
Just get a box and some craft supplies and let them and their creativity have at it! Then make sure you have a note ready that says he got away before the kids wake up.
Green Beer (or Sprite)
Drink until your pee turns green...oh wait that was college.
Or was it???
How have you been celebrating St. Patty's Day?
